Public funding program
"Brandenburger Innovationsfachkräfte"

This program is funded by the European Union and the State of Brandenburg.

scalable minds receives funding through the "Brandenburger Innovationsfachkräfte" program. As part of this initiative, three innovation assistants are working on distinct yet complementary R&D projects focused on advancing AI-powered image analysis software in the life sciences domain. These projects aim to enhance the usability, scalability, and intelligence of microscopy data processing across various imaging technologies.

Project 1 – Fluorescence Microscopy ExpansionThis project focuses on developing new software modules for fluorescence microscopy (FM), extending our current electron microscopy (EM) tools. The aim is to reach new users in life sciences, neuroscience, and cell biology by enabling FM-specific visualization and analysis capabilities.
Project 2 – Scalable Multi-Beam EM AlignmentHere, we are building an AI-based software solution to automatically align, stitch, and quality-check massive datasets from next-generation multi-beam electron microscopes. The system is designed to process hundreds of terabytes efficiently, supporting high-throughput EM workflows.
Project 3 – Unsupervised EM SegmentationThis project applies unsupervised machine learning to segment biomedical EM images without manual annotations. The resulting software offers a cost-effective way to accelerate data analysis in neuroscience through intelligent, automated segmentation.
